Mal runs Zulu Tattoo out of his studio in Little Sutton, Ellesmere Port. With years of tattooing experience and a growing reputation for custom work, he had one problem — no online presence at all. No website, no portfolio, no way for potential clients to find him, see his work, or get in touch to book.
Word of mouth had carried him so far, but Mal knew that without a website, he was invisible to anyone searching for a tattoo artist in Ellesmere Port or the surrounding area. The brief was simple: build something that looks as good as the work he produces, captures enquiries properly, and makes it easy for clients to pay.
Starting from zero is both a blank canvas and a real challenge. There was no existing site to build on, no content to repurpose, and no established Google presence to leverage. Everything needed to be built and communicated clearly — who Mal is, what he does, and why someone should book with him over another studio.
Tattoo enquiries are also more involved than a standard contact form. Clients need to share placement, size, style, skin tone, reference images and budget before a meaningful conversation can happen. A single text box wasn't going to capture the information Mal actually needed to quote accurately and prepare for a session.
We built Zulu Tattoo's website from the ground up — a clean, bold design that puts the focus squarely on the work. Mal's portfolio of previous tattoos is showcased in a gallery built to load fast and look sharp on mobile, where the majority of tattoo studio traffic comes from.
At the heart of the site is a multi-step enquiry form that walks potential clients through everything Mal needs to know: the style and placement they're after, their reference ideas, skin tone, approximate size, and budget. By the time an enquiry lands in Mal's inbox, he has everything he needs to respond with a proper quote — no back and forth, no time wasted.
Payment is handled through Stripe payment links embedded directly on the site. Clients can pay deposits or session fees through a secure external payment link without Mal needing to chase invoices or handle cash. It keeps the booking process clean and professional end to end.
For a studio that previously had no digital presence, the site now gives Zulu Tattoo a legitimate, findable home online — built to rank locally for tattoo searches across Little Sutton, Ellesmere Port and the wider Wirral area.
