The brief & what we built

WooCommerce website design Wirral businesses trust — this project is a complete ecommerce store built for Queen of Systems, a premium men's hair replacement brand based in Birkenhead. Founded by a specialist who has been professionally fitting hair systems since 2011, the business needed to move from in-salon fittings to selling a curated product range online, across the UK and worldwide.

We designed and built the site from scratch on WordPress and WooCommerce, using Elementor for a fully custom, editorial layout. The scope covered brand-led web design, custom WooCommerce product templates, a bespoke structure for the hair systems collection, cart and checkout setup, mobile-first responsive layouts, on-page SEO and the full content build across every page.

The goal was an online shop that reads closer to a luxury grooming brand than a typical hair loss retailer — and converts first-time buyers making a considered purchase without ever meeting the seller.

// The challenge

Hair replacement is a sensitive, high-consideration purchase, and most competing ecommerce sites in the sector lean on clinical stock photography, aggressive discounting and sprawling catalogues of near-identical products. Karen's proposition is the opposite: fewer products, each selected through fifteen years of hands-on fitting experience.

That created three problems to design around. First, communicating deliberate restraint without the site looking sparse or half-finished. Second, building enough trust for someone to spend online, often having never worn a system before and with no salon visit to reassure them. Third, delivering a WooCommerce store the client could manage and expand herself — adding products on-brand, with no developer and no code.

There was also a positioning problem. The brand sits in a category most people research privately and nervously. The site had to feel discreet and matter-of-fact, never clinical and never salesy, while still doing the commercial job of converting browsers into buyers.

// The solution

We delivered a bespoke WooCommerce website design Wirral clients can actually run themselves — built on WordPress and Elementor, and designed around restraint. Generous whitespace, refined typography and a muted palette position each system as a premium product rather than a medical device. Custom Elementor and WooCommerce product templates present the four-product collection as a curated edit, so a small range reads as considered rather than limited, and new systems can be published in minutes.

Trust is layered through the whole journey rather than bolted onto the checkout. The founder's fifteen-year story, verified client testimonials, a clear "what to expect" section and an FAQ answering first-time-wearer objections all sit ahead of the buying decision, so hesitations are resolved before the cart rather than at it.

On the technical side, WooCommerce powers the full purchase flow with worldwide shipping and a streamlined checkout. The build is mobile-first, with clean markup, optimised images and structured on-page SEO throughout — descriptive alt text, a logical heading hierarchy and product schema — so the store is positioned to earn organic traffic as well as convert it.

The result is an ecommerce website that sells on expertise and honesty rather than discounts, and gives a Birkenhead specialist a national and international storefront.
